This original oil on board from 1908 is simply stunning.

Rich bold colors bring a bustling Catalan fishing dock to life, as sailors prepare their nets before setting sail for the day's catch.

In the background, you see another sailboat adrift in the coastal Mediterranean, beside a lush hilly landscape sprinkled with castle-style white and brick buildings with terracotta rooftops peeking over the thick trees. Snow-capped mountains touch the clouds in the blue sky.

There is so much detail in this painting, and one can get lost imaging themselves inside the scene.

Signed P.E. Henking and dated 1908 in the bottom right corner.

The painting seems to have been professionally reframed fairly recently, as evident by the Micheals sticker on the back paper.
