Wow, this piece is really something special!

A double-sided storefront sign from "Parker & Lord Apothecary"

This vintage Apothecary store sign is in incredible condition. Of course, there's a bit of age and wear here and there, it's not perfect, but there is nothing major enough to detract from the instant curb appeal of the rich, vivid colors and iconic lettering.

The sign is hand-carved and painted on both sides from a single block of wood.

The outside red border was carved down, to allow the inner brown background to be raised above the outer border. The lettering, as well as the gold-painted mortar and pestle, were carved into the wood, creating a beautiful 3-dimensional sign.

One side of the sign has a bit more yellow-ing to the shadow behind the lettering than the other, but it's an easy fix if you plan to hang it on the wall, just put the brighter side facing out.

Countless internet searches have resulted in no information about this business. There is no information on where this storefront was, how long it was open for, or who may have owned it, but one thing is for certain, they took impeccable care of their sign.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece of decor, and if you're looking for that wow factor, this is it.

It would be the perfect wall hanging to place above an old apothecary cabinet. It could be a fun piece to hang in a home bar, or near a medicine cabinet. Would also be a great piece for a small business looking for some unique vintage decor.
